Broadcast Team Revealed For UConn-Syracuse Football on Saturday

After a three-point loss against Miami (Ohio) last week, the UConn Huskies will be back in action on the gridiron this Saturday against the Syracuse Orange at noon ET in East Hartford.

The Huskies are now 2-2 on the season while the Orange are 1-2. Syracuse hasn't played since Sept. 17 when it lost to Pitt on a Thursday night. They had a bye in Week 4, so they should be prepared and rested for this matchup.

The two programs have met 14 times since the start of the 2000 season, with UConn trailing 8-6 in the series.

Here's some of the information you need to know:

Broadcast team revealed

The game will air at noon on CBS Sports Network and will be called by Jack Gordon, Taylor McHargue and Jaclyn DeAugustino.

McHargue, a Texas native, played his college football at Rice, leading the program to consecutive bowl games and a conference championship. He graduated in 2013, throwing 17 touchdown passes that season. He's moved up in the broadcasting ranks over the last several years and does a solid job on the color side of things.

Massive crossover in the two programs

We covered this more extensively earlier in the week, but there are several crossovers which make this game interesting:

1) Vince Kehres is the defensive coordinator at Syracuse. He previously served in the same position under UConn head coach Jason Candle at Toledo. Both coaches are in their first year at their new places, meaning they worked together just last season.

2) Because of his ties to Toledo, Kehres has supreme knowledge of UConn quarterback Kalieb Osborne and lead running back Kenji Christian.

3) UConn offensive coordinator Nunzio Campanile is a former offensive coach at Syracuse, meaning he has real knowledge of SU quarterback Steve Angeli, who is set to start the game.

A big debut coming

Calvin Russell, a five-star recruit from Florida, is going to be on the field for Syracuse for the first time. He tore his Achilles in spring practice but is set to come back after just six months, a truly remarkable return.

He's a potential game changer for the Orange on offense and someone that Candle's defense will absolutely have to pay attention to. It will be curious if this debut comes with him on a play count or if he'll be able to freely play as much as the coaching staff wants.
