Browns Get Ripped For Not Naming Starter Between Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders

Although Week 1 is a month away, the Cleveland Browns aren't ready to fully commit to Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson.

Sanders started seven games as a rookie, completing 56.6% of his pass attempts for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Some fans were legitimately convinced that he was being sabotaged by his former head coach, Kevin Stefanski. Well, now he's got the chance to show what he can with a new staff.

As for Watson, he's been with the Browns since 2022. The Pro Bowler has only played 19 games for Cleveland, throwing for 3,365 yards with 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

With the Browns' preseason set to begin on Saturday against the Chicago Bears, the coaching staff has unveiled their first unofficial depth chart of the season.

The Browns currently have "Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders" listed as the No. 1 quarterback on the depth chart. As you'd imagine, fans aren't thrilled with their lack of conviction.

"This is ridiculous! Just so they don't have hear from Shedeur fans," one person declared.

"Stop wasting everybody time and start the 200+ million dollar man so we can see the real him," a second person suggested. "How ridiculously embarrassing."

"The Browns are the only team that let's the local media dictate the QB narrative because they are incapable of doing it as an organization," a fan wrote.

"This a joke right? Like seriously this can’t be an actual depth chart that was allowed to go out," another fan commented.

Training camp hasn't been kind to the Browns.

Earlier this week, Browns head coach Todd Monken went on a rant about his offense's struggles in training camp.

"I said it to the offense. I said it to those guys. I told them that in that moment, what I should’ve done, and what I didn’t do. And as I’ve said to them and us, we’re human. I got fired up. I was [expletive]. That was awful. That was [expletive] football," Monken said, via Pro Football Talk. "And that is going to get me fired up. And I have to own some of that. Obviously, we haven’t coached it well enough. There were other aspects about the two-minute that got me fired up that obviously [were] a reflection of coaching."

Monken might have to wait until after the preseason to truly feel comfortable with starting either Sanders or Watson.
