Top quarterback recruit Ryder Lyons is slated to arrive at BYU prior to the 2027 campaign, but his older brother will now get to Provo first.
USC tight end Walker Lyons is transferring to the Cougars, he announced Friday via social media.
The news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

In 11 games with the Trojans in 2025, Lyons caught 20 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns.
A 4-star recruit out of high school, Lyons originally chose USC over the likes of BYU, Utah, Stanford, Georgia and others.
Prior to his time with the Trojans, Lyons served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norway.
Lyons has two remaining seasons of eligibility in Provo, where he will compete to replace Carsen Ryan as BYU’s starting tight end.
In addition to Lyons, the Cougars have added former Oregon receiver Kyler Kasper from the transfer portal as well this offseason.
