Dec. 10—***

Based on all the grumbling I've been hearing this week. I wonder if anyone other than me is even going to watch the bowls.

If you do decide to tune in, The Athletic's Scott Dochterman has come up with a handy guide for what to watch. In a story published Tuesday, the author ranked the Top 10 postseason games outside the CFP. We're going to assume most of you think those games belong at the top.

On Docterman's list, the Dec. 30 Music City Bowl between Illinois and Tennessee made the cut at No.4.

The Vols are currently listed as 5 1/2-point favorites over Bret Bielema's team.

On the matchuo, Dochterman wrote:

"There's a chance the final score from this Music City Bowl could match the 48-45 barn burner between Tennessee and Purdue in 2021. Both teams have prolific offenses (well, sometimes at Illinois) and suspect defenses."

Like the rest of us, Dochterman was surprised the teams have never played.

Three other bowls involving the Big Ten make his first nine: Washington vs. Boise State in the LA Bowl. Penn State vs. Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl and Michigan vs. Texas in the Citrus Bowl.

What game is No. 1? First, important to point out the Dochterman has long covered Iowa. But the Hawkeyes against Vanderbilt in the ReliaQuest Bowl is legit because it includes Heisman finalist Diego Pavia of Vanderbilt.

Both Pavia and Iowa's Mark Gronowski scare teams with their legs. They have combined for 24 rushing touchdowns. Enjoy.

Thanks to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic
