Cardi B and Offset reunite for son Wave’s birthday as he shares sweet wish for dad

The estranged couple came together to celebrate Wave and daughter Blossom as their divorce remains unresolved.
Wave had one birthday wish: He wanted his dad there.
The 5-year-old son of Cardi B and Offset made the request while blowing out his birthday candles in an IG story shared via XXL and got his wish as Offset showed up for the joint party celebrating Wave and his younger sister, Blossom.
The moment brought Cardi B and her estranged husband together as they celebrated their children, even as their divorce remains unresolved.
Wave turned 5 on Sept. 4, while Blossom turns 2 on Sept. 7. The siblings celebrated with a lavish joint party featuring “Sonic the Hedgehog” and Disney themes, balloon arches, carnival games, a ball pit and plenty of food, according to TMZ.
A video circulating online shows Wave expressing his birthday wish for his father to attend. By the weekend celebration, Offset was there — and later shared video of his son dancing with cotton candy in hand.
Cardi also documented the celebration, dressing as Minnie Mouse and sharing photos and videos of Wave, Blossom and their older sister, Kulture.
The birthday party offered a glimpse at the former couple putting their differences aside for their children. TMZ reported that both parents were present, although neither appeared to share photos or videos of themselves together.
The moment is notable given the complicated history between Cardi and Offset. Cardi filed for divorce for the second time in 2024 after their relationship had gone through multiple breakups and reconciliations. The divorce has not been finalized.
The split has also included public disagreements over parenting. Cardi previously accused Offset of being an absentee father, including claiming in 2025 that he had seen their daughter Blossom only a handful of times. Offset has since publicly emphasized his desire for peace within the family.
“We got kids to take care of,” he said in 2025, adding that he “just want[s] all peace” for their family.
For Wave, though, the birthday moment appeared to be less about his parents’ relationship and more about having both of them there.
And when his son asked for his dad, Offset showed up.
