Cardi B is making sure her children know exactly where they come from, and a recent trip to the Dominican Republic offered a rare window into that.
The rapper, who has long been vocal about her Dominican roots, shared a series of Instagram Stories from the family getaway on July 22. E! News reported that footage showed her two eldest, 8-year-old Kulture and 4-year-old Wave, wandering in an open field and chatting in Spanish with another child while pointing out things they spotted in nature. Cardi framed the moment with a pointed caption about sending kids to the countryside, noting that family trips don’t always have to mean Disney.
Another clip captured 22-month-old Blossom at a farm, giggling as she described a goat as “bonito.” The three siblings, all shared with ex Offset, later cooled down by turning a hose on one another.
Her fourth child, an 8-month-old son with partner Stefon Diggs, sat this portion out. Cardi explained that the baby stayed behind at their accommodation, writing that she could tell he missed his siblings but felt he was still too little for the countryside, particularly given the mosquitoes.
Even in a decidedly rugged setting, the styling didn’t slip, which tracks with how Cardi has described her approach to dressing her kids. Speaking with E! News previously, she said Kulture gravitates toward rainbows, flowers and butterflies, describing her firstborn as vibrant and unmistakably girly.
That fashion interest apparently extends to raiding her mother’s wardrobe. Cardi joked to the outlet that Kulture is constantly in her closet and has been given clear parameters: the clothes and shoes are fair game, but the handbags are strictly off limits, a rule established after one purse was already written on.
The trip offered a rare, unpolished look at Cardi’s family life, trading the usual glossy backdrops for farmland, hoses and a toddler complimenting a goat.
