Champ Anthony among 5 Auburn football players out vs. Vanderbilt: SEC availability report

AUBURN — Another team captain will be sidelined when Auburn football faces Vanderbilt on Saturday, Nov. 8, (3 p.m. CT, SECN) as defensive back Champ Anthony was listed as out on the matchup’s first SEC availability report.
Anthony was seen on crutches at Auburn practice this week, continuing a slew of injury battles for the veteran. After missing most of last season with a severe leg injury, Anthony broke his thumb in Auburn’s Week 1 win against Baylor. He returned during the Tigers’ SEC-opener against Oklahoma.
Freshmen Sam Turner and Donovan Starr were also listed as out for the upcoming contest. Tight end Brandon Frazier, kicker Connor Gibbs, linebacker Elijah Melendez and defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford were marked as questionable.

When’s the next update? Explaining SEC’s weekly availability reports
The SEC posts multiple availability reports throughout the week heading into conference matchups, with initial reports required to be posted by 7 p.m. CT Wednesday. Additional reports arrive no later than 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday evening, with a final pregame availability report no later than 90 minutes before kickoff, meaning this week’s final report will come no later than 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to reporting policy, “probable” describes a player with at least 75% expectancy of playing, “questionable” means a player has a 50% chance of playing, and “doubtful” means a player is unlikely to play, or has a 25% chance of being available.
Availability reports don’t include details on injuries, nor additional context surrounding a player’s status.
