The in-persons visits included several programs’ quarterback coaches, such as Ohio State’s Billy Fessler, Tennessee’s Joey Halzle, Florida State’s Austin Tucker, Notre Dame’s Gino Guidugli as well as former UCF star McKenzie Milton, who is now on the Knights’ coaching staff.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 224 pounds, Monds is a four-star prospect according to 247 Sports and is ranked as the nation’s No. 17 overall quarterback in the Class of 2027 after his reclassification. He was ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2028 prior to the 2025 varsity season.
Monds threw for 2,935 yards, 30 touchdowns and just five interceptions as Vero Beach’s starting quarterback in his first two varsity seasons.
He missed almost all of his sophomore regular season due to an ankle injury suffered in Vero Beach’s opener. He returned in the postseason, suffered an additional injury in his second game back, but recovered to start in the Class 7A state championship. Vero Beach finished 14-1 and came within seconds of the program’s second FHSAA state title.
