Chapel Bell Curve: Whatever the question, manball is the answer

Yara and Nathan did a fantastic, thorough job previewing the SEC earlier this week.
So thorough they sort of ran out of time to actually preview one school in particular: the Georgia Bulldogs.
That’s an oversight the dynamic duo remedy with gusto in this episode, turning the Bulldog roster over this way and that, peeking into the cracks and crevices, and generally giving the Mean Machine in Red and Black the type of meticulous attention you expect from the Internet’s premier college football podcast focused on stats and feelings. Highlights include:
- Nathan being willing to wager that Gunner Stockton will come back for 2027, which I’m reasonably certain is verboten under the NCAA’s “five to play five” rule. But who knows? College football is now Thunderdome, redshirts are now called Schlarfuzzles, and are distributed solely by a leprechaun in Soperton named “Skeeter”, and if you find a sympathetic probate court judge in Wyoming you too could be on a college roster next season. Even tomorrow. So now that I think about it, Nathan is actually probably right on this one.
- The Bulldog tight ends are legion. Figuring out how to use them is a job that could only be managed by a crack tactician like….Mike Bobo.
- Is it possible that, just this once, Kirby Manball is actually the answer?
- Even without Xzavier McLeod, the Bulldog defensive line makes Yara’s heart sing.
- Does Georgia have the best secondary in the nation? Maybe. Does asking that question aloud feel a little like tempting the gods in a Greek tragedy? You bet your Homefield hoodie it does.
