The losers dropped two spots to third, while the Georgia Bulldogs bumped up to second after their victory over the now-11th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Texas Tech Red Raiders moved up two spots as well to fourth after prevailing over the BYU Cougars for the Big 12 championship, while the Oregon Ducks fell a spot to round out the top five.
The Ole Miss Rebels, Texas A&M Aggies, Oklahoma Sooners, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Miami Hurricanes wrap up the top 10, respectively.
The Southeastern Conference is represented by a total of eight schools among the top 25. In addition to the aforementioned five, the Vanderbilt Commodores (No. 12), Texas Longhorns (No. 14) and Tennessee Volunteers (No. 23) made the cut; the Missouri Tigers also earned 51 votes.
