Dabo Swinney didn’t hold back on Wednesday as Clemson officially brought in two new quarterbacks early, four-star Tait Reynolds from Arizona and three-star Brock Bradley out of Alabama. Swinney said the staff stayed true to the same careful approach they’ve used for years, one he believes has consistently helped the Tigers land the right players.
“If you track how we’ve recruited quarterbacks since I’ve been the head coach, you know, we were very, very diligent,” he said. “We do a lot of due diligence… These two guys fit everything I was looking for in the position. And that’s Brock Bradley and Tait Reynolds.”
Bradley arrives with a long list of wins from Spain Park, where he became the program’s all-time leader in victories. He threw for 7,694 yards in his career, completed 65 percent of his passes, and posted 87 touchdowns to just 15 interceptions. Swinney loves the edge Bradley plays with and didn’t hesitate when describing him.
“Brock is a winner,” Swinney said. “This kid… he’s Baker Mayfield-ish, if you will. He’s just a winner. And he’s always been a winner… He’s not afraid to compete. Matter of fact, he looks forward to that.”
His senior year backed that up, throwing for 2,930 yards and 32 scores while helping his team to a 9–3 season and a playoff run. Swinney said Bradley’s steady climb through high-level Alabama football shows exactly why Clemson wanted him.
Reynolds brings something completely different. A standout baseball athlete who grew into one of the top quarterbacks in his class, he turned heads at the Elite 11 and showed flashes of big-play ability throughout his junior season before a hamstring injury slowed his senior year. That junior campaign included 2,238 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and another 1,426 yards with 19 scores on the ground.
“This is one of the most unique kids I’ve recruited,” Swinney said. “This is a special talent. He’s a hard guy to describe. He can fly.”

Reynolds is even putting baseball on hold so he can get to Clemson early and jump fully into football. Swinney said that choice says everything about the commitment he’s bringing with him.
“He wanted to come mid-year, and he wants to compete,” Swinney said. “Tate is… he’s an elite talent. I think this guy has tremendous upside and can’t wait to get started with both of these quarterbacks.”
