Clemson added an important in-state piece to its future offense on Thursday as Daniel High School receiver Trey Wimbley announced his commitment. The talented wideout recently moved from the 2028 group into the 2027 class, and Clemson offered soon after the switch, giving the Tigers a quick chance to land one of South Carolina’s most promising young prospects.

He posted a message on X when he made things public: “All glory to God!! I will be shutting down my recruitment, IM ALL IN!!!” Before his reclass, he was ranked No. 51 overall and No. 12 among receivers in the 2028 class, as well as No. 2 in the state.

With his decision, Wimbley becomes the fifth member of Clemson’s 2027 class and the first wide receiver committed. He joins four-star quarterback Kharim Hughley on the offensive side, helping shape a group that currently sits 11th in the nation in the 247Sports Composite.
