The fight between the SEC and LSU continues. Only now is the college football conference threatening to terminate the Tigers.
This all stems from LSU’s desire to bring back players who went into the NFL and participated in offseason activities due to a series of court orders handed down over the summer, allowing certain college players an additional year of eligibility.
However, most schools in college athletics are not allowing players who signed in the NFL to come back to the collegiate level after being cut. LSU is still trying to do so.
SEC’s Meeting to Potentially Terminate LSU Leaves CFB Fans Divided
LSU was not allowed to have any former pro player on its roster for the Tigers’ season opener against Clemson.

Now, the SEC has announced it will meet on Thursday to vote on the potential termination of LSU from the conference.
The SEC will need two-thirds of the vote in favor of getting rid of LSU in order to terminate the Tigers, according to court records.
College football fans are now reacting, and they are a bit divided on how LSU would fare if not in the SEC.
“I hated this [expletive] from the beginning and here we are. The possibility of LSU, this is LSU we’re talking about not being apart of the SEC. My god bro,” LSU national champion Breiden Fehoko chimed in.
There were many fans defending the Tigers, believing they’d be just fine finding a new conference.
“Please do lmao. Sec is nothing without LSU,” Bayou Hot Takes wrote on X. “We’d have a new tv deal before the SEC could break the news.”
“Replaced by Clemson, who fires Dabo and hires Lane after 1 game,” NIL not NLI reacted.
“The clown show continues…,” Cajun Exile wrote.
Another fan was more than happy with LSU in a new conference.
“Please put lsu in ACC lmao. Make us a auto bid basically every year if we got pushed into ACC,” he wrote.
“The ACC and BIG12 would be on LSU like ducks on a junebug,” another fan added.
“The SEC is going to be irrelevant if they go through with this . LSU will win the lawsuit,” David Mitchel said.
However, one fan thinks LSU needs to be in the SEC.
“LSU should be on their knees begging the SEC for forgiveness and promising this will never happen again,” Bongo Blue wrote.
Football analyst Ryan Clark is about where most people are with all of this.
“Now this is wild! lol,” he said on X.
Despite all the controversy leading up to Week 1, LSU handled business, destroying Clemson 51-10.
LSU’s offense and defense ranked No. 21 in the country, according to PFSN’s Impact Rankings, and No. 5 and No. 7 in the SEC, respectively, in Week 1.

Kiffin’s LSU led 31-3 at halftime, and the head coach joked about what the score would be if his squad had NFL players.
For a while, this controversy seemed to be just that: A lot of disagreement and arguments over how rules will be applied. Now, it is going to a new level.
