Indiana football is coming off of its first national championship in program history in Curt Cignetti’s second season as the Hoosiers’ head coach. You’d think 16-0 and a full trophy case would silence any doubters but, alas.
SB Nation conducted a survey of fans from across the college football world and asked who they believed would win the Big Ten Championship this season. Indiana is, of course, the league’s defending champion after knocking off Ohio State 13-10 last winter.
Despite that, a strong offseason and enough returners to form another strong group, just 11% of those surveyed picked the Hoosiers to win the league’s championship in 2026:
Ohio State received a plurality of the vote with 42% while Oregon was just behind at 38%. USC finished just behind Indiana with 3% of the vote, “Other,” equaled that percentage and Michigan netted 1% of the vote.
The Hoosiers sit at +290 to win the Big Ten Championship in 2026, per FanDuel Sportsbook. They’re in a top three with the Buckeyes having the best odds at +185, the Ducks coming in second at +260 and the Trojans trailing all three at +1400.
