College Football Playoff Predictor Projects a Wild Top 10

Pro Football Network's College Football Playoff predictor threw out one of the most chaotic top-25s that you'll see throughout the offseason.

While it is a little off the wall, I don't think that it is an unfeasible outcome.

Starting with the Buckeyes, a 9-3 record is certainly on the table. The Buckeyes have one of the toughest schedules in the country on their hands this upcoming season. They are tasked with playing three legitimate National Championship Contenders in Texas, Indiana, and Oregon.

The only relief they get is Iowa and USC on the road and a game they most certainly cannot look beyond when they head out to Lincoln to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

That's six of their 12 games against legitimate competition, and they are certainly liable to slip up at some point in there. However, at worst, a 9-3 season with those three losses against quality opponents will keep the Buckeyes alive in national consideration.

They will not have a favorable seed in the playoffs, or, in this model, maybe they get the best spot in the entire bracket.

There are a couple of other elements in this predictor that are honestly exciting to see. How about the Utah Utes running the table and tossing out an 11-1 campaign that catapults them to the No. 2 team in the country.

How about a 10-2 Vanderbilt checking in as the No. 6 seed and, more importantly, being the third-highest-ranked SEC school besides Texas and Georgia.

Then, seeds 9 and 10 would be an absolute riot. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Virginia Cavaliers are slotting themselves in the CFP after running through the ACC and being the highest-ranked teams in that conference.

That would likely be the end of the at-large Playoff teams as the final one would be the Group of 4 highest-ranked team taking up at least one spot in the Playoff, and maybe two if the last couple of years are any indicator.

This model throws out a pretty fun and maybe only partly doable ranking that would make for a very fun and interesting College Football Playoff.

For the Buckeyes, this would slot them up against the Group of 4 Team in the first round, with the right to take on the Georgia Bulldogs and finally get their revenge.
