Just when teams begin to feel safe, they are not.

Welcome to the 2025 college football season. Six top 25 teams fell in Week 12 action on Saturday, Nov. 15, while a few others survived close scares. As a result, the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 rankings to be released on Sunday, Nov. 16, will feature more major changes.

Perhaps the two games with the biggest consequences were No. 10 Oklahoma (No. 11 in the College Football Playoff rankings) knocking off No. 4 Alabama (No. 4 in CFP) 23-21 and No. 5 Georgia (No. 5 CFP) beating No. 10 Texas (No. 10 CFP) 35-10. The Crimson Tide and Longhorns should tumble in the rankings, while the Sooners and Bulldogs will rise, raising their College Football Playoff hopes.

No. 6 Ole Miss survived a scare against Florida, escaping with a 34-24 lead despite trailing entering the fourth quarter, while No. 3 Texas A&M needed a 27-point comeback to avoid losing its first game of the season.

In the American, Navy defeated South Florida 41-38, meaning there should be a new favorite to emerge as the Group of Five to make the CFP. Miami, Georgia Tech and Virginia all won, keeping alive hopes to represent the ACC in the 12-team playoff.

Here’s a look at the updated Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 after Week 12 of the college football season:
