Just two SEC teams were in action during conference championship week.
No. 3 Georgia knocked off No. 10 Alabama28-7 from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, on Saturday, Dec. 6. With the win, the Bulldogs are locked into a top-four seed in the 12-team College Football Playoff, while the Crimson Tide could face a decision from the committee as a three-loss team that Georgia dominated the game from the opening kick.
Gunner Stockton finished with three passing touchdowns, while the Crimson Tide were limited to negative-3 rushing yards for the game.
While the other 14 SEC teams were not in action, Ole Miss, Oklahoma — and, to a lesser extent — Texas and Vanderbilt all still had playoff hopes entering Week 15. The Rebels and Sooners are locks, while the Longhorns and Commodores will need to wait alongside the Crimson Tide for a favorable ruling from the committee.
