'College GameDay' Accused Of Showing Major Bias With 2026 Schedule

ESPN’s “College GameDay” confirmed this week its first three stops of the 2026 college football season.

The longtime ESPN college football pregame show will be living in SEC country for the first month of the season. While the Big Ten has won the past three College Football Playoff national championships – Michigan in 2023, Ohio State in 2024 and Indiana in 2025 – the SEC will be the home of “College GameDay” to start the season.

ESPN has confirmed that College GameDay will be at LSU in Week 1, the University of Texas in Week 2, and Ole Miss in Week 3. LSU will be taking on Clemson in Week 1, while Texas will host Ohio State in Week 2. Ole Miss will be hosting Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers for Week 3 of the season.

All three games are fairly understandable picks. LSU vs. Clemson is the best game of Week 1, Texas vs. Ohio State in Week 2 is one of the games of the season, and Lane Kiffin’s return to Ole Miss should be electric.

However, three straight SEC sites doesn’t do much to push away the “ESPN’s SEC bias” accusations.

College football fans are accusing ESPN of showing major bias

“ESPN not doing much to hide its bias,” one wrote.

“Clear bias toward the SEC, but not really surprised,” one shared.

“Shocker!” one fan said sarcastically. “Wouldn’t be surprised if every ‘GameDay’ stop is an SEC site this year.”

“2 out of 3 weeks is going to be about Lane Kiffin? College GameDay exist to tell stories. It’s a great, intriguing story. It isn’t THAT intriguing,” one fan added.

Others, though, are defending ESPN.

“As they should be. There’s not even a good argument for any other game as the biggest place to be any of the three Saturdays, and only one of the games is an all-SEC matchup,” one fan wrote.

“This is great to get outraged about and all…but where else is it supposed to go? GameDay chose by far the biggest game on each of the first three Saturdays,” one fan added.

What do you make of ESPN’s decision to stop at three straight SEC campuses this fall?
