Florida State will have to prove the entire ESPN “College GameDay” panel wrong if it wants to leave Tuscaloosa with another upset victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The GameDay crew made its picks for Saturday’s matchup between the Seminoles and No. 10 Crimson Tide, and the decision was unanimous. Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and celebrity guest picker Morgan Freeman all selected Alabama to win.

GameDay broadcast from Oxford, Mississippi, ahead of Saturday night’s top-10 matchup between the No. 7 LSU Tigers and No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels, with Freeman joining the regular panel as guest picker.

The lack of support for Florida State is not particularly surprising. Alabama enters Saturday 2-0 and ranked No. 10 nationally after defeating East Carolina and Kentucky, while FSU is 1-1 following a 27-24 home loss to SMU and a bye week. The Crimson Tide were also favored by nearly three touchdowns entering the weekend.

Still, Florida State has seen this scenario before.

Ahead of the programs’ 2025 meeting in Tallahassee, Howard, Saban, McAfee and Herbstreit all picked Alabama. Former FSU player Lee Corso was the lone member of the GameDay panel to select the Seminoles in his final appearance on the show. Florida State went on to upset then-No. 8 Alabama, 31-17, at Doak Campbell Stadium.

FSU will now try to repeat that result in a considerably more difficult environment.

Saturday marks Florida State’s first trip to Tuscaloosa since 1974. Alabama leads the all-time series 3-2-1, but the Seminoles have an opportunity to win consecutive meetings against the Crimson Tide for the first time.

Florida State and Alabama are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
