'College GameDay' starting 2026 season with back-to-back SEC shows

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will spend Week 2 of the 2026 college football season at the Ohio State Buckeyes versus Texas Longhorns game on Sept. 12. The Ohio State-Texas game will be in Austin, Texas.

It will be the third straight year GameDay has attended an Ohio State-Texas game. During the 2025 season, GameDay attended Texas’ Week 1 trip to Ohio State. GameDay also attended the Cotton Bowl between Ohio State and Texas during the 2024 season.

GameDay picked the Ohio State at Texas game over other exciting Week 2 games such as Oklahoma at Michigan, Missouri at Kansas, Tennessee at Georgia Tech, Arizona State at Texas A&M, Iowa State at Iowa and more.

GameDay also announced it will attend the Clemson Tigers at LSU Tigers game in Week 1. The announcement means GameDay will open the season with back-to-back games on SEC campuses, which a lot of college football fans aren’t happy about. There’s a great chance that GameDay will attend a third straight SEC game to start the season since LSU and coach Lane Kiffin return to Oxford, Mississippi, to play Ole Miss in Week 3.

The Georgia Bulldogs play Western Kentucky in Week 2, so Bulldogs fans shouldn’t have a gripe that GameDay won’t be in town on Sept. 12.
