Colorado football added two linemen to its now 25-player deep transfer portal class. Former Sacramento State offensive lineman Jose Soto and San Jose State defensive lineman Vili Taufatofua have both committed to the Buffaloes.

Soto reunites with his former head coach, Colorado’s new offensive coordinator, Brennan Marion. The 6-foot-3, 312-pounder was the Hornets’ starting right guard in 2025. He did not allow a sack or quarterback hit in conference play. Soto provides depth along CU’s offensive line as the Buffs’ third offensive line transfer addition.

Taufatofua becomes Colorado’s eighth commit on the defensive line. He is coming off an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention season where he racked up 34 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass breakup. He started in 11 games last season.

The New Zealand native began his FBS career at Utah but did not see any action. He is the seventh projected edge rusher that the Buffs added, signalling a clear plan to improve the defensive line and, more specifically, the pass rush.

Taufatofua and Soto continue the trend of Colorado adding highly productive lower-level players. The strategy is sound, especially after a 3-9 season, and one Sanders believes in.
