The Colorado Buffaloes went into the offseason on a mission to improve their defensive line. Deion Sanders and Co. added plenty of production along the front four, perhaps none bigger than New Mexico State transfer Ezra Christensen.
Christensen had a standout season with the Aggies in 2025, racking up the most quarterback hurries (28) in the FCS by a defensive lineman. However, according to Colorado defensive line coach Dante Carter, who spoke on Friday regarding Christensen’s eligibility, they still do not have an answer.
“Right now, he has a [eligibility] situation that we’re trying to figure out,” Carter said. “We’re still working through it. I’m very excited to see what he’s going to do for us in the fall once we get his situation taken care of.”
With the spring game a week away, the lack of updates on his eligibility is a concern for a program that desperately needs his presence inside.
Colorado seemingly had Christensen’s eligibility figured out after the program announced him as a transfer addition. That is obviously not the case, and it does not seem like clarity is near.
