After a rough day Tuesday for the Colorado Buffaloes, losing star left tackle Jordan Seaton to the transfer portal, Deion Sanders and company made their biggest splash during this portal cycle, signing former Texas star wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr.

Earlier Tuesday morning, On3 experts logged predictions that the Buffaloes would land the Southern California native. This followed some Monday reporting that Colorado and Kentucky were the final two teams vying for Moore’s services. Sanders and the Buffs ultimately prevailed, landing the No. 18 overall player and the No. 5 wide receiver per 247Sports transfer portal rankings.

Moore, a four-star transfer, becomes the Buffs’ highest-rated pickup and heads to Boulder with one season of eligibility remaining after three seasons as a Longhorn. He brings proven production and experience, appearing in 36 games at Texas and breaking out over the past two years. In 2025, he finished with 38 receptions for 532 yards and four touchdowns. Combine that with his solid 2024 season as well, and he comes to Colorado with 77 total receptions for 988 yards and 11 touchdowns. He finished the past season as the Longhorns‘ second leading receiver behind future first-round pick Ryan Wingo.

The 6-foot, 192-pounder reunites with new Colorado OC Brennan Marion, who was Moore’s primary recruiter when he was Texas’s wide receivers coach in 2022. Moore finally gets his chance to play for Marion and is set to be a crucial part of what the Buffs are building. He joins Ernest Campbell (Sacramento State), Danny Scudero (San Jose State) and Kam Perry (Miami (OH)) as the four transfer portal wide receivers Colorado added. Buff fans should thank Marion for all four new additions, as the coach has been everywhere on the recruiting trail, using his connections to bolster several Colorado position groups. They join returner Joseph Williams to form an elite unit for quarterback Julian Lewis.

When looking at the expected depth chart, Moore slots in as the perfect complement to Joseph Williams, with the other receivers mentioned above fitting in around those two.
