Colorado football is off this week for spring break, but the recruiting staff is using the downtime to send out offers to several 2027 and 2028 recruits.
One of those recruits is 2028 four-star running back Elijah Cromwell from Englewood, Colorado and Cherry Creek High School.
Cromwell is an elite prospect, ranked as Colorado’s top player and the No. 7 running back nationally by the 247Sports Composite. Overall, he is the No. 96 recruit in the 2028 class.
Deion Sanders and Colorado become the 15th school to offer the 5-foot-11, 180-pound running back. Other programs to offer him include Miami, Notre Dame, California, SMU and Kansas.
After a great conversation with @shadrich80 I am blessed to receive an offer from the university of Colorado!!@CCNextLevelFB@CoachBetti@BrandonHuffmanpic.twitter.com/gGTuJVr0w2

A Cromwell commitment would be a huge win for a CU program that has fallen behind in recent years in terms of attracting in-state talent. With a new recruiting staff under Darius Darden-Box and Rashad Rich, the Buffs are making a renewed effort to target the top Colorado prospects.
Cromwell is near the top of the list as one of the top players in the country and the top player from Colorado. A potential commitment would hopefully jumpstart a trend of Colorado high schoolers remaining in the state.
