Colorado offensive tackle Carde Smith plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3/Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Smith was a four-star recruit in 2025 and a top 150 player in his class. He was one of Colorado’s 15 high school signees and now becomes one of six already planning to leave the program.
He played in the final three games of the season, contributing 11 snaps on special teams. Smith looked to have a future as the starting right tackle opposite star left tackle Jordan Seaton, but will now seek an opportunity elsewhere, with four years of eligibility remaining.

Smith joins a handful of former Buffs who intend to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2. The most notable being star wide receiver Omarion Miller and up-and-coming safety Tawfiq Byard.
Offensive line should be a position that Deion Sanders and company focus on this transfer portal season.
