Colorado Issues Statement On Deion Sanders Amid Disappointing Season

Things have not gone well for Deion Sanders in his third year with the Colorado Buffaloes football team. They're 3-6 right now and could be ousted from bowl season in about 48 hours if they don't get much better, much faster.
Coach Prime is throwing just about everything at the wall to see what sticks, from media blackouts to secret changes at the playcaller. But how is the school administration handling the mess they're in?
Speaking to the media this week, Colorado athletic director Rick George – one of Sanders' biggest supporters in Boulder, Colorado – gave his vote of confidence to the embattled head coach. He declared that Sanders is doing what he wants to see as a head coach but just wants to see them win more football games.
"I'm proud of Coach Prime. It's been a tough year what he's been through. He's been a trooper, been working hard, motivating. He's doing the things I want him to do as Coach. We just gotta win more FB games," George said.

Colorado is in a pretty rough spot right now. Their recruiting isn't going great, ranking near the bottom of their own conference and well below a number of non-power conference teams. They don't have nearly as much talent to highlight on Saturdays as they did last year and most important of all, they don't have a particularly good quarterback right now.
Those are all problems that rest on Sanders' shoulders and don't seem primed to go away before next season.
With the amount of money that Colorado is paying to let Sanders do his thing, the return needs to be better than near-elimination from bowl contention by early-November.
Ironically, the money itself might ultimately keep Colorado from firing him outright so he should have at least one more offseason to make the team looking right again.
But there are likely to be some very uncomfortable conversations happening after the season.
