With EA Sports College Football 27 released to MVP+ members earlier this week, fans and players alike can play the game for the first time. Colorado Buffaloes linebacker Gideon Lampron was one of those players, and he came away unimpressed with how EA Sports made him look.

Any player who opted into the game has a very basic head scan and Lampron’s face was not up to par. The senior linebacker was given a receding hairline and the forehead of a middle-aged man, not a Power Four football player hoping to make a career in the NFL.

Lampron, a transfer from Bowling Green, commented on X in response to a post that read, “EA Sports did my man dirty.” He humorously replied with “jail,” poking fun at the inaccurate portrayal.

Unlike other sports video games, EA Sports’ College Football series does not scan its players, which often leads to instances like the one above. Bad depiction and all, Lampron is Colorado’s second-highest rated player, coming in with an 88 overall rating, right behind wide receiver Danny Scudero (91 overall).

On the field, Lampron was brought in as a tackling machine and one of the best middle linebackers in the country in 2025. With Bowling Green, he started all 12 games and totaled 119 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, four quarterback hurries, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup. Lampron will enter fall camp as the projected starter at inside linebacker.
