Colorado football continues to feel the results of a 3-9 season, with multiple players announcing their intentions to enter the transfer portal in early January. Departure announcements have now begun to affect the coaching staff.
Longtime Deion Sanders assistant and Colorado’s offensive playcaller, Brett Bartolone, is set to be hired as offensive coordinator at Nevada under head coach Jeff Choate, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Bartolone was Sanders’ offensive coordinator at Jackson State, where he coached Shedeur Sanders to a standout sophomore season. Sanders threw for 3,732 yards and accounted for 46 total touchdowns.

Once Sanders hired Brennan Marion as offensive coordinator, it seemed a Bartolone departure could be next. Bartolone now takes over a Wolfpack offense that ranked last in the Mountain West, averaging just 302 yards per game.
Bartolone will also join Nevada in a year when the Mountain West loses several teams to the rebuilt Pac-12.
