Darius Curry will not play in the final Colorado State football game of 2025.
The redshirt freshman quarterback has been suspended by the team after he spit at a Boise State player in a 49-21 loss on Nov. 22.
CSU announced the decision Nov. 23. The program also announced offensive lineman Liam Wortmann was suspended as well.
CSU’s news release said Curry and Wortmann are suspended “as a result of the unsportsmanlike conduct of spitting on opposing players during the second half of the football game at Boise State.”
Both Curry and Wortmann will be suspended for CSU’s 2025 finale on Nov. 28 when the Rams host Air Force.
“After having a chance to review the film following the game, I want to apologize to the Boise State football players, Coach (Spencer) Danielson, and everyone at Boise State University,” CSU interim coach Tyson Summers said in a news release.
Video circulated widely on social media in the second half of the 49-21 Boise State win of Curry after an interception spitting at Boise State’s Jayden Virgin-Morgan.
“These actions are unacceptable. We are all regretful for what occurred last night, and on behalf of everyone at Colorado State, I want to apologize to the Boise State Football Student-Athletes, Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey, Coach Danielson and the entire Boise State Football program,” CSU athletic director John Weber said in a news release.

Curry also posted an apology on Nov. 23. In a note posted on social media, the QB said “I want to sincerely apologize to Jayden Virgin-Morgan and the entire Boise State football program for my actions during the game.
“What I did was unacceptable, disrespectful, and completely against the values I’m expected to represent as a student-athlete.”
He also apologized to CSU players, coaches and fans as well as his family.

Curry began the 2025 season as CSU’s third-string quarterback. The Boise State game was his first career start.
Original 2025 starter Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi was benched earlier in the season and then left the team. Jackson Brousseau started seven games in a row but missed the Boise State game injured. He’s may not be ready to return to action when the Rams host Air Force on Nov. 28.
That leaves Tahj Bullock as CSU’s only scholarship QB for the Air Force game. Bullock, an Akron transfer, has mostly been used as a running QB option this season.
Bullock has 31 rushing attempts, two catches and one pass thrown this season. He played 22 games for Akron, passing for 447 yards and three touchdowns.
Walk-on Tommy Poholsky travelled with the team for the Boise State game and was in uniform and likely would be the next option. Poholsky is an Evergreen High School graduate and spent one season (2023) at Iowa. He’s never appeared in a college game.
Wortmann is CSU’s starting right guard. He is in his first season at CSU after transferring from Central Missouri.
