There may be no more Beers in the end zone for Colorado State.
Tight end Rocky Beers set a CSU record for touchdown receptions for a tight end in 2025 but is now expected to enter the transfer portal, as first reported by Pete Nakos of On3 Sports on Dec. 22.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Beers joined CSU from Florida International ahead of the 2025 season and became the top receiving threat for the Rams as the season went on.
Beers had 31 catches for a team-high 388 yards and seven touchdowns. The seven TDs set a program record for touchdown catches in a season by a tight end.
This was the fifth season in college for Beers, but he was expected to get another year of eligibility.
The transfer portal window opens Jan. 2. Players can return to a program after entering the portal if both parties agree, although it’s somewhat uncommon.
A big roster turnover is underway as Jim Mora takes over the program from the fired Jay Norvell. There are more than 20 players from CSU’s 2025 roster who are expected to enter the portal.
