The college football transfer portal is officially open, and rumors are flying about which schools are interested in which players.

Colorado has several roster holes to fill, and that process starts Friday with the Buffs and Deion Sanders setting up visits with several players.

One of the first players to lock in a visit and an offer from the Buffaloes is former New Mexico State defensive tackle Ezra Christensen. The interior rusher earned the third-highest Pro Football Focus grade among defensive tackles in the FBS this past season. He finished the season with 42 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks.

Christensen has visits scheduled with Colorado (Jan. 6-7) and Virginia (Jan. 4-5). He also holds an offer from Kentucky, Washington, UCF, Minnesota, Texas State, JMU and Duke.

Before transferring to New Mexico State last year, Christensen played two seasons at Fresno State, where he recorded 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

The 6-foot-2, 260-pound lineman would be a huge addition for a Colorado team needing multiple bodies along a depleted front four.
