Texas has added a big wide receiver to its 2027 football recruiting class. North Forney wide receiver Briceson Thrower has committed to the Longhorns on CBS Sports on Friday night. At 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, Thrower is a top 50 prospect in the country.

Thrower has visited the Forty Acres a few times, but will take his official visit in Austin next weekend (June 12-14). UT position coach Chris Jackson was instrumental in getting the playmaker on board.

“What’s really exciting me is seeing myself in their program making plays,” Thrower told Rivals. “I really like how they’ve pushed guys to be the best, and they have coached them to be the best man — not just on the field, but off of it as well. So, I see myself thriving there, and I know it’s a good fit for me.”

The North Forney star, who is one of the most coveted wide receiver prospects in the Lone Star State, committed to Texas over offers from Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Illinois.
