Big Ten play will deliver another exciting set of games in Week 5 of the college football season. USC football will get a good chance to regroup against a team which is less disciplined than the Trojans are: the WashingtonHuskies. Iowa has another chance to pull off another big upset. Chaos will not come to a halt in Week 5.
Here is exactly how the fifth Week of the Big Ten football season will pan out:
Penn State at Northwestern (Friday)
Penn State cannot sleepwalk into this game. Northwestern has its first game in a new stadium, and that could spell a trap game for Penn State. Aidan Chiles has been playing at an extremely high level, and another great performance by him will help Northwestern pull off an unexpected win. Northwestern will win 28-21.
Michigan at Minnesota
Minnesota is riding high after their statement win on the road against Washington. Michigan is the exact opposite, as karma came to get them in their last-second loss to Iowa. Michigan's offense is not good enough to blow out good teams. This game will be a nail-biter. I think Drake Lindsey will be the best quarterback on the field, and he makes enough winning plays for Minnesota to come out on top. Minnesota will win another big game with a 27-20 victory.
Michigan State at Wisconsin
The Michigan Spartans are not a team to take lightly. Cam Edwards will be the best back in this game, and they also gave Notre Dame a tougher game. Wisconsin has all the momentum after a big win against Penn State. Colston Joseph and a good defensive performance will help the Badgers make it 4 wins in a row. Badgers will win 38-17 in Week 5.
Ohio State at Iowa
This will be a defensive battle. Jeremiah Smith has dominated in every game he has played this season. The Iowa Hawkeyes will make it difficult for Julian Sayin, and the Hawkeyes' run game will help them keep this game close. This will be a very battle-tested game for the Buckeyes. They have more talent, and they will pull away in this game, but this game will leave them scarred.
Maryland at Nebraska
Maryland Terrapins are coming off a disastrous performance. Mike Locksley should not have his job after that performance. This game should very well put the nail in the coffin. The Cornhuskers offense will stay hot and cruise to a 38-7 victory.
Purdue at Illinois
Purdue resorted back to being one of the worst teams in the Big Ten last week. This week will be a similar fate for the Boilermakers. The Fighting Illini will handle Purdue convincingly with a 48-14 win.
Washington at USC
Washington has enough talent to take advantage of a disappointing Trojans defense. However, this struggling USC football team will take full advantage of a bad Huskies team on the road. The Trojans' defense will bounce back, and Jayden Maiava will lead the Trojans past Washington to a 34-20 win. Washington could not handle the Minnesota Gophers at home; they will not get a get-right game against USC.
Indiana at Rutgers
Rutgers has been on a nice run these last few games. USC played a part in uplifting their confidence. After a close battle against Northwestern, Indiana will get back to dominant play and steamroll Rutgers. Indiana Hoosiers will win 50-10 as Josh Hoover delivers a 4-touchdown performance.
