Cooper High School announced that it has hired Adam Begley as its next football coach.

Begley brings continuity to the job, having served as the freshman varsity coach and the varsity offensive line coach. He also founded Cooper's youth football program in 2024 and served as its director.

Begley succeeds his longtime boss, Randy Borchers, who recently stepped down from his post as both the football coach and athletic director to take a job in a different district. Borchers had a 118-95 record in 18 seasons.

This year projects to be a rebuilding season for the Jaguars. They graduate quarterback Cam O'Hara, who from a statistical standpoint was one of the greatest quarterbacks in state history, lead running back Keagan Maher, lead receiver Ryker Campbell, as well as their five leading tacklers from 2025.

Cooper has not released its 2026 schedule yet, but it will continue to play Boone County, Conner, Dixie Heights and Scott in Class 5A, District 5 play. For the 2027 and 2028 seasons, Covington Catholic will join Class 5A, moving up from Class 4A, District 7.
