If you didn’t know, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman joined the set of ESPN College GameDay for the College Football Playoff national championship broadcast, with pregame and halftime duties on the main channel.
It should come as no surprise that Freeman did very well in front of the camera, as he often does while meeting with the media with the Irish. He did well enough on the broadcast that The Athletic’s Stewart Mandel posted on social media that “Marcus Freeman is already a more polished studio analyst than most studio analysts.”

Originally, I didn’t understand why he’d go on College Gameday and thought it was pretty dumb.
But here’s the thing,… pic.twitter.com/pqNtC6PJ29
