It's time to officially buckle in for football once again as the kickoff of the first game of the 2026 LSU Tigers season is now just 100 days away.
While it's a milestone that doesn't really mean anything, it's always just a marker/reminder of when the season starts to not feel as far away again. In just 100 days, the Lane Kiffin era can finally begin.
To celebrate the start of the football season, we can begin the countdown to kickoff by taking a look at each of the four 100-yard return touchdowns that the Tigers have had in the last 30 years:

Anderson only had one career kickoff return touchdown, but he did it on only six chances, which shows just how dangerous he could be. The receiver's game-breaking speed throughout his career made it surprising that he didn't perform well in the 40-yard dash.
The 23-year-old ended up going unselected in the most recent NFL draft, but signed with the Cleveland Browns afterwards and will get his shot at the next level.
Leonard Fournette Returns Kickoff vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2014)
Not only was this one fun to watch, but it was also as clutch as they come. Fournette responded to a second-quarter touchdown to bring the game back to even. LSU ended up losing this game, but Fournette added 143 yards and two more scores on the ground to his 100-yard kickoff.
Fournette only returned kickoffs as a freshman, unsurprisingly, but he was always so fun to watch do it. He was a threat to go to the house every time he touched a football.
Odell Beckham Jr. Returns Field Goal vs. UAB Blazers (2013)
There was nothing that Beckham did without making a highlight out of it. He was a fantastic kickoff returner this season, leading the SEC with 845 yards. He had 2,215 all-purpose yards. Getting the chance to return a field goal (technically 109 yards from where it landed, was all too fitting.
Beckham really bullied the Blazers in this one as he also had five catches for 136 yards and three touchdowns.
Craig Loston Returns Interception vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs (2012)
There have only been three 100-yard interception returns in school history. The others were by Greg Jackson in 1988 and White Graves in 1964.
Loston was All-SEC second team this year and was really good for their defense over the final two years of his career. Unfortunately, things didn't work out in the NFL past a two-season stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
