The LSU Tigers football season is inching closer, now down to double digits on the countdown clock. Kickoff against the Clemson Tigers is now just 73 days away.
As we continue to look back at the history of the Bayou Bandits to celebrate and prepare heading into the first game, there is also the matter of getting to know the current-day players.
Here is a look at the past and present of No. 73 at LSU:
No. 73 – OL Adrian Lamb
The Tigers used pretty much every avenue available to them when reconstructing this offensive line. They'll use freshmen, D1 transfer and Lamb is one of the representatives who are coming in from a JUCO school.
Lamb joins the Tigers as a redshirt sophomore who spent one year with the Georgia Military College. He was a late addition, coming to campus in the spring after graduating from his former school.
The South Carolina native also held offers from the South Carolina Gamecocks and Alabama Crimson Tide, but opted to go to the Tigers. With so many rotating pieces, there certainly would be a chance for Lamb to earn early playing time. At worst, though, he'll be someone with three years of eligibility to hopefully develop.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle was a part of a very productive running game last season in the JUCO league and certainly has the frame of someone who could compete at an SEC level.
Highlighting A Former Player Who Wore No. 73
OL Adrian Magee (2015-2019)
Magee stayed around in Baton Rouge for a long time and was rewarded by being a part of the historic 2019 roster during his fifth season on the team. He redshirted as a freshman in 2015, but then became a versatile piece for the offensive line. He mostly played at left guard, but also split time between the two tackle spots as well.
The Franklinton, La. native was named to the Coaches' All-SEC Second Team as a senior. He went undrafted in 2020. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as a UDFA, but he was cut before the year began.
OL Will Arnold (2003-2007)
Arnold is more of a "what-if" than an LSU legend. He started off his career red-hot with freshman All-SEC and All-American nods. He would go on to be named to two more All-SEC second teams, but he missed most of his final two years due to injury and his football career ended there.
