The LSU Tigers football season is inching closer, now down to double digits on the countdown clock. Kickoff against the Clemson Tigers is now just 91 days away.

As we continue to look back at the history of the Bayou Bandits to celebrate and prepare heading into the first game, there is also the matter of getting to know the current-day players.

Here is a look at the past and present of No. 91 at LSU:

No. 91 – DE Trenton Henderson

Henderson comes to the Tigers as a part of the historic freshman class along LSU defensive line. He wasn't a five-star recruit, but is highly touted and could find the field fast in Baton Rouge.

The Pensacola, Fla. native was the No. 85 overall player in his recruiting class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He was also the No. 11 EDGE rusher and the No. 12 player out of the state of Florida.

Henderson is a fantastic athlete and should be able to use that to his advantage in coming off the edge. He is coming in a little undersized at 225 pounds, but that also plays to his strengths in speed and fluidity off the edge. Blake Baker should have a field day in figuring out all of the ways to use Henderson.

Though LSU did have an elite defense last season, they didn't have much of a pass-rush. With Harold Perkins now gone as well, the Tigers need defenders who can change the game. Henderson has the potential to be that type of game wrecker.

Highlighting Former Players Who Wore No. 91

DL Breiden Fehoko (2017-2019)

Fehoko was nearly a top-50 recruit coming out of high school, but he initially signed with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was a starter right away in college, and that didn't change when he got to Baton Rouge, though he did have to sit out a year per transfer portal rules (it was a different time). The defensive lineman was a standout during the 2019 National Championship run. He went undrafted in 2020, but stuck around the NFL for a couple of years.

DL Christian LaCouture (2013-2017)

LaCouture would eventually don the iconic No. 18, but he wore No. 91 before that. He was a leader on an elite LSU defense while he was there. He had 10.5 career sacks during his time there, with six coming during a fantastic senior campaign.
