The Indiana Hoosiers are one win away from a perfect season and a national title.
Indiana is set to play the Miami Hurricanes in the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday, and it’s expected to be a great game. Indiana beat the Oregon Ducks in one of the semifinals, while Miami beat the Ole Miss Rebels in the other.
Curt Cignetti has done an unbelievable job as Indiana’s head coach over the last two seasons and wants everyone to know that he’s not interested in any NFL jobs. He’s in it for the long haul at Indiana, especially after signing an eight-year extension back in October.
“I’m not an NFL guy. I made that decision a long time ago. I’ve always been a college football guy,” Cignetti said, via On3’s Brett McMurphy.
Cignetti has compiled a 26-2 record since taking the Indiana job ahead of the 2024 season. He led the program to the CFP last year before losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the first round.
This year, he has led the program to a Big Ten title and a 15-0 record going into Monday’s title game.
Before taking the Indiana job, Cignetti coached the James Madison Dukes for two seasons, finishing his tenure with a 19-4 record. He has a 45-6 overall record as a head coach over the last four seasons.
The CFP National Championship game is set to take place in Miami. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET Monday on ESPN and the ESPN app. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will have the call.
