CLEMSON — Clemson football landed its first transfer portal player with the addition of Penn State cornerback Elliot Washington II on Jan. 5 according to media reports.
Washington recorded 18 tackles, one interception and four pass deflections this season. In his three-year career with the Nittany Lions, he recorded 53 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass deflections in 36 games. He played under Clemson defensive coordinator Tom Allen when he was at Penn State in 2024.
Washington posted on Instagram that he was at Clemson for a visit on Jan. 4, then confirmed his decision on social media Jan. 5. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Washington joins a depleted secondary that lost cornerbacks Avieon Terrell (NFL draft) and Jeadyn Lukus (expiring eligibility) and safeties Khalil Barnes (portal), Ricardo Jones (portal) and Rob Billings (portal).
Washington will join Clemson’s returning contributors, including cornerbacks Ashton Hampton, Corian Gipson and Branden Strozier and safety Ronan Hanafin.
