The NCAA’s investigation into Clemsonfootball’s tampering allegations involving Luke Ferrelli remains out of sight for Dabo Swinney.

Speaking Thursday during the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte, the Clemson head coach was asked whether the NCAA has reached out with any update since opening its investigation into Ole Miss earlier this year. Swinney said he has not heard anything, and he doesn’t expect that to change.

“I did my part,” Swinney said. “The NCAA does not give us an update, so I have no idea.”

The situation dates back to January, when Swinney publicly accused Ole Miss of improperly recruiting Ferrelli after the linebacker had already committed to Clemson. According to Swinney, Ferrelli had enrolled in school, signed his financial aid agreement and begun participating in football activities before deciding to re-enter the transfer portal and eventually commit to the Rebels.

The allegations immediately became one of the biggest stories of the winter transfer cycle. ESPN later reported that the NCAA launched an investigation the same day Swinney made his accusations. As part of the inquiry, enforcement officials reportedly requested phone records and forensic imaging of devices belonging to multiple Ole Miss football staff members, along with Ferrelli’s phones, as investigators worked to determine whether tampering occurred.

Months later, there has been little public movement in the case. ESPN has previously reported that the investigation remains in its early stages, and neither the NCAA nor Ole Miss has announced any findings or disciplinary action.

While Swinney’s comments Thursday didn’t provide any new details about the investigation itself, they confirmed that Clemson has not been informed of any progress behind the scenes. For now, the veteran coach says his role in the matter is over, and any next steps will be up to the NCAA.
