Dabo Swinney Sends Clear Message on LSU Fans Ahead of Clemson Opener

The Clemson Tigers are getting ready to kick off the new 2026 college football season against the LSU Tigers.

This will be the second game of a home-and-home series with LSU, with the scene shifting over to Baton Rouge this year. Clemson played LSU at home last season in the opener, losing a tough game 17-10.

The loss derailed all the hype that Clemson entered the 2025 season with, and now they will be out for some revenge against LSU.

But even Swinney knows that he can't fully replicate the noise and energy that will be coming from the stands when the game kicks off.

"I don't think you can simulate 100k people and the craziness that's going to be involved in the environment," Swinney said.

Swinney has played in a lot of big games during his coaching career, so he's used to all the pressure and noise. But many of these players haven't experienced this level of intensity, so it'll be a waiting game to see how they respond.

Clemson enters this game looking to make a statement in their own season, especially after the down 2025 year. Swinney himself was rumored to potentially be let go after last season, so there is real pressure to turn things around.

If the Tigers could grab a win in Week 1 against LSU, it could go a long way in how the season could go for Clemson. But it won't be easy, especially with LSU's Lane Kiffin making his debut with the program in this contest.

But Clemson was a top-rated team last season before LSU came into their building to knock them off. Clemson will have a chance to do the same here, but they will have to take things play-by-play, letting the game come to them.

If they can quiet the crowd early, it could play into their hands, giving Clemson a chance to pull off the big upset.
