CLEMSON — Clemson football added its first wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star wideout Trey Wimbley on Dec. 4.

“All glory to God!! I will be shutting down my recruitment, IM ALL IN!!!,” he wrote on X.

The 6-foot, 175-pounder from Daniel High School in South Carolina is rated the No. 7 player in the state and the No. 44 receiver nationally by the 247Sports Composite. Initially, Wimbley was in the 2028 recruiting class but reclassed to 2027.

In his sophomore season, Wimbley recorded 57 catches for 1,072 yards and 14 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He announced his commitment on social media after receiving an offer from Clemson on Nov. 21.

Clemson‘s 2027 class has five commitments and is ranked No. 11 nationally. Wimbley is the second player from South Carolina to commit to Clemson this cycle, joining his teammate and three-star cornerback Christian “PJ” Chancellor Jr.

The Tigers’ class also has four-star quarterback Kharim Hughley, four-star linebacker Max Brown, the younger brother of Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown, and three-star safety Harrison Luke, the son of Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke.
