Dante Core, Ole Miss football defensive back, arrested on drug charges

Ole Miss football freshman cornerback Dante Core was arrested on two drug charges in Alabama on Dec. 26.

According to the Covington County Jail, Core was arrested by Andalusia Police on possession charges for marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was booked at 12:49 a.m. on Dec. 26 and released at 10:46 a.m. that day.

The Clarion Ledger has reached out to Ole Miss for comment but has not received a response.

The No. 6 seed Rebels (12-1) are playing No. 3 Georgia (12-1) in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals on Jan. 1 (7 p.m., ESPN) in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

Ole Miss players were given a few days off for Christmas but were back at practice on Dec. 26.

Core has not played in a game this season.

Core, 20, is from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and played at Choctawhatchee High School. He was a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
