Dante Moore Heats Up Late to Lead Oregon to Win Over Boise State

Oregon Ducks star quarterback Dante Moore and the offense struggled early in their Week 1 matchup against the Boise State Broncos.

Moore and the Ducks escaped with a 34-27 win over Boise State, but it was a disappointing game, as they were heavy favorites entering the contest.

Although Oregon has plenty of things to clean up heading into Week 2, Moore showcased why he is one of the best quarterbacks in college football. The offense did get off to a slow start, and Moore did have an uncharacteristic miss on a throw that would've been a touchdown, but he stepped up late and led the offense to a much better second half.

By the numbers, Moore had an elite game, completing 28 of 37 passes for 378 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. The scary part for opposing teams is that he can be more efficient and play at a higher level.

If Moore can play as he did in the second half throughout an entire game, Oregon will undoubtedly be one of the best teams in college football.

"I'm glad this game was how it was, we've got a lot to learn. Thank god this wasn't a 40 or 50-point blowout," Moore said.

Moore is taking the positives and using the game as a learning experience, as the Ducks will look to improve for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old quarterback had a great 2025 season, completing 71.8 percent of his passes for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

He likely would've been the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he opted to return to Oregon for another season. He has a chance to put more on tape and prove that he should be a top selection in the 2027 NFL Draft and try to make another College Football Playoff run with the Ducks.

With Moore at the helm, Oregon has a legitimate shot at winning the National Championship, but they will need to clean up their mistakes and penalties, especially against tougher opponents.
