One of the greatest rivalries in college football is set to unfold in Week 10 of the 2025 season. The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs will go head to head against the Florida Gators at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Bulldogs hold the advantage in the all-time record against the Gators at 56-44-2. Georgia has also won four consecutive games in this series and, under head coach Kirby Smart, is 7-2 against Florida. This matchup will showcase a Georgia team with aspirations for a national championship and arguably the best coach in the sport, going up against a Gators team that has recently fired head coach Billy Napier. This will be Florida’s first game under interim head coach Billy Gonzales.
On “See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack,” the college football analyst noted that there are some areas in which Florida could challenge Georgia; however, he mentioned that he cannot pick against the Bulldogs.
“The weapons for Florida give them a chance,” said Pollack, who starred at Georgia. “When I say weapons, I mean [Jadan] Baugh. Baugh can break tackles, make plays. VB3 [Vernell Brown III] on the outside. He can make plays on the outside. Dallas Wilson can make plays on the outside. So, if they get two-dimensional, they get the run game going, that’s when Florida can be a [problem] … I can’t bet against Georgia. I just can’t bet against them.”
The Gators boast several offensive weapons, as Pollack highlighted. Baugh leads the team with 611 rushing yards and four touchdowns, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Brown stands out as the top receiver, amassing 451 receiving yards. Additionally, five-star freshman Dallas Wilson has played in only three games but has already recorded 167 yards and three touchdowns.
The Bulldogs boast one of the strongest defenses in the sport; however, they have faced challenges in their secondary. Georgia ranks 25th in total defense, 72nd in passing defense and 12th in rushing defense. Linebacker C.J. Allen is the team’s standout player, leading with 56 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and three sacks, which are the highest or tied for the highest on the team.
Florida’s playmakers give them a puncher’s chance, but facing Georgia’s depth and discipline is a different challenge. With the Bulldogs chasing another playoff berth and Florida starting fresh under an interim coach, this matchup could say more about where both programs are headed than where they currently stand. A dominant Georgia win would tighten the SEC race and send a clear message that the Bulldogs aren’t letting go of their spot near the top anytime soon.
Georgia takes on Florida in Jacksonville at 3:30 pm. ET Saturday on ABC.
