Deion Sanders hit with classless message after Colorado upset

The Colorado Buffaloes opened the 2026 college football season with an impressive upset victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Thursday night.

After falling behind 13-7 with fewer than two minutes left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Buffaloes quarterback Julian Lewis led his team on an eight play, 75-yard touchdown drive to give Colorado a 14-13 lead. The defense came up equally as clutch, blocking a last-second field goal attempt asDeion Sanders‘ team escaped with victory.

Sanders, meanwhile, remains one of the most polarizing personalities in the game of college football.

Those that love the Colorado head coach truly love him and those who ride against him seemingly do so no matter his message to the world.

That continued to be true following Thursday night’s impressive upset victory when Sanders walked off the field with his son, Cleveland Browns and former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

The former NFL star received a classless comment from a fan in the stands who clearly wasn’t rooting for the Buffaloes.

After an abrupt f-bomb from the fan, Sanders gave a glaring look before continuing on his way into the tunnel.

Sanders opened his Colorado tenure with a 4-8 season before an impressive turnaround in 2024 when the Buffaloes finished at 9-4 and inside the top 25. After losing several key players like his son and star wide receiver/corner Travis hunter to the NFL, Colorado took a step back in 2025 with a dismal 3-9 campaign.

The 2026 season, however, appears to have started on the right foot.
