The Colorado Buffaloes finished spring camp Saturday afternoon with their annual Black and Gold spring game. It was a good showing for the program with a lot of "new" on display from the coaching staff and schemes to the 40-plus transfer additions.

While the offensive game plan was relatively "vanilla," the general feeling was that it was much more explosive and versatile than in years past. On defense, several players stood out to Coach Prime, including freshman cornerback Maurice Williams.

Deion Sanders spoke to the media following the scrimmage, giving a recap of the game and his overall thoughts on spring camp.

Coach Prime on WR Danny Scudero

"We have a lot of speed at wide receiver and we have guys who can get vertical as well as move the chains," Sanders said. "Danny, he's a dog."

Sanders recently set up Scudero with former Super Bowl-winning slot receiver Julian Edelman.

"He's a pleasure and an honor to coach … Danny has got that it that [Julian Edelman] had," Sanders said.

Sanders reveals he played a game with roaches in his shoe

"I took my shoe off after the game and roaches fell out," Sanders said.

Sanders on his new coordinators

"These guys are really good," Sanders said. "They're detailed. The best gift that I believe that they have is not just the Xs and Os…its's how they relate to the players."

Coach Prime announces Colorado's starting kicker

Freshman Elliott Arnold, who just missed a 50-yard field goal during the spring game, has earned the starting role.

"Elliott is the guy," Sanders said. "Everybody knows their role right now. We've got the utmost faith and confidence in him."
