Deuce Alexander showed off his speed with a 62-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown in the third quarter of Mississippi's season opener against Louisville.
That score briefly cost the Rebels some depth at wide receiver.
Shortly after the touchdown drive ended at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Alexander was seen being stretched out on the sideline by members of the Rebels' medical staff. He eventually left for the locker room at the stadium for further evaluation. He'd return to the field during one of the Rebels' drives in the fourth quarter at the 10:30 mark.
The Rebels briefly lost their lead after Alexander's 62-yard touchdown, as the Cardinals tied the score at 24-24 with a 62-yard touchdown of their own when Lincoln Kienholz connected with Tre Richardson on the deep ball. Ole Miss reclaimed the lead on the next ensuing drive when Trinidad Chambliss connected with Caleb Odom for an open 35-yard touchdown catch.
Before his injury, Alexander racked up 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns on four receptions. Both of Alexander's touchdowns were 62-yard receptions.

Alexander was taken back to the locker room at Nissan Stadium after sustaining an apparent lower body injury in the third quarter of Ole Miss' Week 1 game against Louisville.
He returned to the field in the fourth quarter after spending some time in the locker room. He briefly spent time on the bike as well.
