The Clemson Tigers defeated rival South Carolina, 28-14, at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia to close the 2025 college football regular season on Saturday.
Clemson‘s defense forced four LaNorris Sellers turnovers and pitched a second-half shutout as the Tigers picked up their ninth win over the Gamecocks in the series’ last 11 meetings dating back to 2014, something coach Dabo Swinney was sure to point out afterwards.
Clemson (7-5) finished the regular season with four straight wins after an ugly 3-5 start. The Tigers fell a long way from their top-10 ranking in the preseason polls, but they beat rivals South Carolina and Florida State, as well as notched a top-25 road win at Louisville, to salvage something of their season.
The Tigers will now await a bowl game invitation. The latest bowl game projections from USA TODAY Sports see Clemson facing the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 27.
